Weather ; - Cold and windy with rain showers.

Practice day.

Luke had a good practice day, bringing his timing down to 42.96 with the cold weather. Their was only Luke and Adam smalley on the day, so he was able to play with the set up and the carb.

Race Day.

Lukes new helmet has arrived and he is over the moon with it , many thanks to pitstop paints. Luke wanted a British and Australian flag with cats eyes looking out of the back. Which Jon followed Lukes design very well and Luke was so pleased with the finished look . Luke and his friends are making the most of seeing each other for the last few races before we move to Australia and start racing in adelaide

In the first heat the weather wasn't very good and the track was holding water on most corners and our set up was just a little out and Luke was fighting with his kart on the slippery surface. Luke started on grid 9 and gained a couple of places to 7th.
Second heat ended up to be a brilliant race, Luke started 4 th on grid and had a good start following behind Adam and broke away from the pack to gain a nice gap. Luke was able to maintain the gap throughout the race to come in 2 nd place. Luke was punching the air with delight when he drove into the pits........... what a boost of confidence...and a new experience.......scrutineering....FANTASTIC!!!
Third heat was a exciting battle between Luke and Ben with Callum close behind, Luke started 5th on grid  and he finished 5 th place.
In the Final - Luke was 4th on grid  and had a good start with the main pack , we noticed that Luke was getting slower and he lost 2 places but did manage to keep 6th place .Looking at the kart we noticed that the exhaust had come loose from the engine......Luke was not impressed and is now looking for new mechanic :) LOL.

Manchester & Buxton Kart Club

Three Sisters Race Circuit

Date 24/3/12 - 25/3/12

Weather - sunny warm weekend.

Practice Day.

The day went well........ Luke is pushing himself alot harder and learning different techniques , been able to keep up with the more advanced cadets following their race line is giving him alot more confidence. Luke did loose his air box on one of the practices..............but did nt notice the mad mechanic waving a blue air box at him lol....lucky not to damage his engine.
Luke was over the moon Jamma was in our awning for the weekend !!!

Race Day.

35 Cadets and a few national drivers among them today.
In our awning was Luke, Jamie (Jamma) and Jack out of cadets.
The weather was brilliant, the  three boys were eager to start racing and the practice 3 laps went well and the set up was looking good.
First heat Luke was flying and having a good battle with Nathan, until the end coasting to the finish line, Luke lost 3 places and came in at 14........... which we found out was down to the spark plug melting, but luckly the engine was saved !!!.
Luke started 2nd on the grid on heat two, which ended up having three false starts due to the grid going way to fast which caused a accident, so the race was stop and had to be restarted. Luke didnt have a good start but kept his head and drove brilliant. Luke knew he was going to be past by the national cadets but went out to learn from them and came in 11 place............. which was awsome and gave him a boost.
Final heat , Luke started at the back of the grid and gained a few places to 17th and he came in with a huge smile on his face saying................ he had the best race ever battling with Max, Tom and Thomas.
A Final -  Luke got a really good start with his team mates following, but unfortunatly he was side swiped and hit the tyre wall flat out. We all thought he was out of the race and going to his aid, when he got himself back in the race, half a lap behind. A lot of catching up to do.. , but he got his head down and with grit determination caught the back of the pack and started to wittle away at them gaining 10 places!!!!! . The best chasing down we have seen from Luke........WELL DONE!!!....... Fantastic driving.
Coming into the parc ferme, Luke was very shaken and was looked over by the ambalance crew, his injuries were cut lip, and a badly swollen knee and shock.
We asked Scott to look over the kart before the next race and found both peddles were bent.
